Name of the initiative: Creation of conditions for physical development of community youth and social cohesion of community residents and IDPs
The basketball court in Khotyn was built with the funds of a micro-grant of the SCLR community support program of Chernivtsi oblast. It has become an important center of social interactions, especially between local residents and IDPs.
The authors of the project also organized sports events and tournaments, actively promoted the integration of IDPs into the local community. This helped to reduce social tension and improve relations between different population groups. Children and youth, participating in sports events, gained new knowledge about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and regular physical activity. This contributed to the formation of a positive attitude towards sports and active recreation.
In addition, the participants learned valuable skills of teamwork, discipline and responsibility, which have an impact on their personal development. Beneficiaries of the project noted that games on the new field became a source of joy and positive emotions. Sports activity not only improved people's physical health, but also became an important means of relieving stress and improving mood.
Thanks to the new basketball court, the number of sports events in the community has increased significantly. Regular trainings, tournaments, sports festivals attract more and more residents of the community. Joint sports events helped overcome barriers and fostered closer cooperation between different population groups. This created an atmosphere of unity and mutual support, which is an important aspect of social cohesion.
The initiative covers 452 people, including 227 IDPs. Every day, more and more people join sports and play basketball on the modern basketball court.
