Name of the initiative: "Together on the wave"
Thanks to swimming, you can not only improve physical fitness, strengthen immunity and relieve stress. Children who have survived the horrors of war need this more than anyone else. However, not all families can pay for swimming lessons. Thanks to the initiative, 40 children from the most vulnerable families took a course in the Chernivtsi swimming pool with professional trainers.
This initiative contributed to the integration of IDP children into the community, made them friends and reduced anxiety. And, of course, provided girls and boys with such a vital skill as the ability to swim, which can save lives. The project helped not only children, but also their families to integrate into the life of the Chernivtsi community and reduce social tension.

The following measures were implemented in this project:
- Joint swimming lessons for IDP children and children from the local community,
- Provision of IDP children with the necessary sports equipment for swimming,
- Group classes in the gym for each child,
- Sports competitions after completing swimming lessons.
So the boys and girls not only learned how to stay on the water professionally, but also won their first medals and certificates. After the completion of the project, about half of the 40 IDP children covered by this initiative continued swimming in order to develop their skills and gain new achievements in this sport.
In the second round of the SCLR community support program of the Chernivtsi region, the applicants of this project received a micro-grant for the second time and were able to teach the same number of young Bukovinians to swim, because the number of people willing to participate in the project many times exceeded the initiative's capabilities.
