The name of the initiative: "Improving the social and living conditions of IDPs in the MCP of Herts, Chernivtsi Region"
When the full-scale invasion began, the House of Prayer of the "Philadelphia" Church of the Evangelical Faith of Christians in Hertz opened its doors to welcome people from other regions of the country who were forced to flee from the war. The large church hall was partitioned into separate rooms and equipped with the most necessary things by our own efforts. Currently, about 70 people from the most vulnerable categories of the population live here.

In order to improve living conditions, local residents and active IDPs have joined together to implement the SCLR project. There was a critical lack of the most essential: shower cabins to ensure hygiene needs, as well as kitchen hoods, since the cooking areas were actively used and fumes entered the living rooms. Also, people realized that they were here for a long time and decided to stock up for the winter, here the freezer and refrigerating equipment, which was also purchased with grant funds, came in handy.

In general, as part of the project, the applicants purchased and installed 2 shower cabins, 2 hoods, 3 refrigerators and freezers each. Thanks to the implementation of the initiative, shelter residents can now freeze vegetables and fruits for the winter. Additional refrigerators provide more space for safe food storage, which reduces the risk of food poisoning and allows you to prepare meals for several meals. As a result of the installation of hoods, air quality improved and extraneous odors disappeared. The queues for the shower have decreased, the bathrooms have become more suitable for use by people with reduced mobility.

Residents of the shelter note that the optimization of common areas contributed to reducing conflicts and increasing cohesion in the community. "We have the necessities of life and now we look a little more confidently to the future in a new place, because many people currently have nowhere to return," people say.
The successful implementation of the initiative continued in the second round of SCLR projects, during which the residents of the shelter set themselves the goal of conducting training and other activities and establishing closer ties with representatives of the local community.
