Project goal
To psychologically support and prepare for school children aged 5-7 who suffered from military actions

Name of the initiative: Psychoemotional support, preparation and adaptation to school for children aged 5-7 years.

The shadow theater forms the imagination, building with Lego teaches counting and planning, experiments help to learn about nature, clever puzzles develop logic, dances to an educational video clip are transferred to different corners of the world... School preparation classes from SCLR-program applicants never let anyone get bored!

According to the parents, the children looked forward to classes and even wrote their homework with love. "I was looking for similar courses, but in Chernivtsi now they are only paid, and the prices are biting. The child here simply "blossomed", found friends, believed in himself," said Nina Medvedeva from Kharkiv.

Among the authors of this initiative, the majority are forced migrants, so they know from the experience of their own families how difficult it is to educate children after the horrors of war. First of all, IDPs from the most vulnerable families are registered for classes.

- The idea of the initiative for psycho-emotional support and school preparation of 5-6-year-old children arose from the awareness of the importance of early development and adaptation of the child to the school environment, which is especially difficult after the experience of military operations, - says the author of the initiative, professional psychologist Olga Natarova. - During this period, children face new challenges that can cause stress and anxiety. The main goal of the initiative is to ensure children's emotional stability, develop their social skills and self-confidence. It also helps children better adapt to school requirements, contributes to their overall development and improves academic results. The initiative responds to the support needs of parents and children during this transitional period, creating a favorable environment for the harmonious development of the child's personality. Before that, my colleagues and I worked for a long time with visiting and local children in the "Singing Actions for Children" project, so we saw how important it is now.

The authors of the initiative conducted consultations with a psychologist for children and their parents, which allowed to provide personalized support and advice on adaptation to the school environment. They organized trainings for children who were unable to attend their course due to the large number of applicants, using art therapy practices to help them express their emotions and reduce stress.

The preschool training project was also implemented by:

🍁interactive group classes aimed at developing emotional literacy and self-regulation skills, where children learned to recognize and express their emotions;
🌏 trainings for parents on adaptation and preparation for school;
⭐️classes for children on effective communication, cooperation and conflict resolution;
👂 consultations with a psychologist for children and their parents, provision of personalized support and advice on adaptation to the school environment;
🎭 art therapy practices to help children express their emotions and reduce stress; 🧚‍♂️ Game and creative methods, STEM, etc.

These measures contributed to the harmonious development and successful transition of children to school and easy adaptation to it.

After the completion of the micro-grant, the applicants plan to involve local organizations and schools for the further implementation of the methods and programs developed within the framework of the project.Training local specialists and parents in methods of psycho-emotional support will ensure the constant use of this knowledge in the community.
