The name of the initiative: "Helping a neighbor: psychosocial support and integration of IDPs in Chernivtsi"
Vacations can turn into an exciting adventure, and you don't have to leave the city for that! This was proved by the community of immigrants from the Luhansk region, who organized day camps for schoolchildren in Chernivtsi. We brought together local and visiting children from the occupied territories, arranged games, contests, creative activities for them, bought a trampoline, machines for popcorn and cotton candy, a music column and a projector with a screen. And for a few days, one of the largest residential neighborhoods of Chernivtsi, Graviton, turned into a corner of entertainment for children and young people who, because of the war, were mostly forced to spend the whole summer in the city.

Also, in this project, the applicants repaired, equipped with furniture, equipment and educational materials a room for educational activities with children and adults. This space for communication and friendly meetings on Ruska Street, 255-А in Chernivtsi is open for children and adults even after the completion of the project. The initiative group continues to hold events there on a volunteer basis.
In addition, applicants:
-
Сreated the Telegram channel "People we love" to inform the target audience and project participants about the possibilities of psychosocial and material support for IDPs of the Chernivtsi region.
-
Conducted a series of psychological trainings for children, adolescents, women and families of IDPs.
-
Courses on healthy nutrition were arranged with examination on a weight analyzer and development of individual weight loss programs. Participants were taught how to determine their ideal weight, how to achieve and maintain it, how to develop healthy eating habits and how to avoid stress. All those interested also took part in the online marathon of switching to the right diet.
The participants of the events of this initiative noted a decrease in the level of anxiety and stress, improvement of interaction between local residents and visitors, between parents and children.
