The name of the initiative: "Rehabilitation and recreation camps of an ecological orientation for children of vulnerable categories in Chernivtsi and the region"
Thanks to the SCLR community support program of the Chernivtsi region, children who previously could only dream of such a vacation had the opportunity to heal spiritually and physically in a tent camp. Forced to leave their native home due to hostilities, these boys and girls spent unforgettable days among the picturesque Carpathian mountains.
They found new friends, met the sunrise together, spent the night under the stars. Every day was filled with a variety of activities: excursions, quests, games, environmental and vocational orientation groups, psychological trainings and art therapy meetings, swimming in the pool, exercises, discos, themed evenings, evening bonfires and roasting sausages. The daily Divine Liturgy in the open air, prayer for the soldiers, the National Anthem of Ukraine gave a feeling of confidence and hope for a good future.
The organization of summer recreation for children of vulnerable categories by the "Caritas" charitable foundation became possible thanks to the receipt of a grant under the SCLR program:
* part of the necessary equipment was purchased with grant funds, transport and meals for children were organized;
* two 5-day camp shifts were held (for children 8-11 and 12-16 years old);
* 60 children of immigrants and local vulnerable categories (including those removed from their families), 10 volunteer students, including immigrants and persons with disabilities, were involved.
"Thank you for the wonderful organization of the tent camp!!! My son arrived very satisfied, liked everything, made new friends. He said that he dreams of visiting there again. Inspiration, strength, patience in your good deeds, which are so necessary now!" - said Kyryll Arzumanyan's parents after their son's rest.
The results of psychological testing demonstrate the positive impact of the ecocamp on the psycho-emotional state of the students (a decrease in the level of anxiety (by 28%) and depression (by 9%) among the participants). Most children reported increased self-confidence, better emotional management, stronger social interactions and improved communication skills. In addition, the camp contributed to the development of the ecological consciousness of the new generation, which will become another important brick in the formation of an active life position of young citizens of our country. For these children, the summer has definitely passed with benefit!
