Name of the initiative: "Adaptation of IDP children in culinary and creative classes"
There is no better way to overcome a bad mood than to cook something delicious and then enjoy it in good company. This is what a team of professional chefs decided and organized children's courses in a real restaurant kitchen in the center of Chernivtsi.
Pizza and salads, borscht and desserts, sushi and dumplings - what girls and boys have not learned to cook! The initiative turned out to be so popular that the organizers had to attract twice as many participants to the classes than planned - 149.
Children learned how to handle kitchen equipment safely; cook a variety of dishes and work in a team. They found new friends, received psychological support and the opportunity to tell their story of leaving their native home or traditional recipes of their native region. Also, the organizers organized handmade classes for the little ones: together they made Ukrainian national amulets, souvenir candles, key chains, wind-up dolls, plasticine paintings and much more.
The project ended with a wonderful holiday with animators, dances, competitions and a joint treat with cakes, which were prepared by the parents of the young participants of the courses under the guidance of a professional confectioner.
Given the large number of people willing to take part in the project's activities, which many times exceeded the capabilities of the relocated cafe, the initiative group continued this project in the second round. Involved more than 50 families of forced migrants in the classes, and also created my own public organization in order to have more opportunities to implement volunteer and humanitarian projects.
