Name of the initiative: Children's playground "KIDS RUBIK"
A new playground has appeared on the territory of the shelter for IDPs in the village of Lukavtsi. With the joint efforts of the residents of the shelter and the public organization, they arranged the territory, fenced and planted flowers, bought high-quality equipment and installed it thanks to the SCLR program.

The nearest similar space for children and teenagers is in the neighboring village, so the playground near the shelter gathers children from all over Lukavtsi. Access to it is open, next to the site there is a children's playroom of the shelter with a bathroom.
- We have been dreaming about this playground for a long time - said the head of the shelter, Kateryna Strazhyr. - There are many children in the shelter, but there are no swings or carousels for them anywhere in the village. Now children and parents from all over Lukavsi come here, get to know the residents of the shelter, and talk. And at school, our children invite their classmates, who are local, to come here for entertainment. It turns out to be a very good integration. Such projects help not only to improve the relations of IDPs with the host community, but also increase the level of respect of local villagers for the displaced. People realize that thanks to the initiative of the residents of the shelter, life is improving in the whole community.
The playground enables children and young people to develop, have fun, learn and socialize through play, which contributes to their emotional and psychological well-being.
- I really liked the playground that was built in our Shelter, - says Karina Yefimenko, one of the IDPs who lives here. - Safety is especially worth noting, because the space is equipped with video surveillance, and a special soft surface on the site reduces the risk of injury in the event of a fall. In addition, there is a fence that prevents children from running outside the playground. In general, the playground is very convenient and beautiful, it is interesting for children of all ages to play here.
The SCLR program for supporting community initiatives in Bukovyna is implemented by the public organization AREAC - Chernivtsi Regional Association for Social Development with the administrative support of Fundatia Heks/Eper Romania and the financial support of Swiss Solidarity and Act Alliance.
