The largest SCLR community support program in Chernivtsi region has been successfully completed. Among its main achievements:
-77 initiative groups of the region wrote and the authorities implemented projects for the benefit of their communities with micro-grants of up to 210 thousand hryvnias each.
- Over 9 thousand residents of the region directly benefited from these projects in the first year of the program.
-Thanks to the program, the communities of the region received assistance in ensuring the basic needs of IDPs, support in restoring mental and physical health, in education for children and adults, and in opening common spaces for the integration of relocated Ukrainians and local residents of the communities.
-The initiative groups themselves gained invaluable experience in implementing their own initiatives, thanks to which they were able to strengthen their influence in the communities, transform from objects of assistance into entities that make their own decisions and become a valuable resource for their communities.
-At least 6 initiative groups, mainly representatives of IDPs and other vulnerable categories, were able to create their own community organizations and start independent activities in the field of civic activism thanks to the support of the program.
-The interaction of the local population and internally displaced persons in the communities of Chernivtsi region has significantly improved, the influence of stereotypes about newcomers has decreased, and community cohesion has increased.
The project “Support to the most vulnerable IDPs affected by military actions and host communities through integrated SCLR” was implemented in 2024 by the NGO “Chernivtsi Regional Association for Social Development – AREAC” with the administrative support of HEKS/EPER Romania and financial support of Swiss Solidarity and Act Alliance.
