In Bukovina, the training of urgently needed specialists in the installation of security and fire alarms will begin, thanks to a new project by the NGO "Chernivtsi Regional Association for Social Development" in cooperation with the Chernivtsi Polytechnic Vocational College. Until now, this profession has not been taught in either Chernivtsi or neighboring regions.
The project "Innovations for Security" is being implemented within the framework of the "Vocational Education in Ukraine / Skills4Recovery" Program, funded by the German government, and implemented with the assistance of the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine. The NGO "Chernivtsi Regional Association for Social Development" will implement it in partnership with the Chernivtsi Polytechnic College and the Chernivtsi Regional Specialized Repair and Construction Enterprise for Fire Prevention Works of the Voluntary Fire Society of Ukraine during August - November 2025.
The main objectives of the project are as follows.
To create conditions for the opening of a new profession 7244 "Security and Fire Alarm Electrician" at Chernivtsi Polytechnic College.
To establish cooperation with employers to ensure internships or advanced training for teachers and masters of industrial training of the college.
To develop training programs for internships or advanced training for masters of industrial training and teachers of special disciplines.
To develop training programs in accordance with the standard of professional (vocational and technical education) education for the profession 7244 "Security and Fire Alarm Electrician" and taking into account the latest technologies.
To purchase modern equipment, train college medical workers to work on it; to hold master classes for college students and potential entrants.
To organize an information campaign to popularize the new profession.
The innovativeness of the project lies in the introduction into the educational process of the latest technologies and equipment used by enterprises in this field, in particular, the installation of security and fire alarms in the "smart home" system; work with wireless and cloud security systems; elements of cybersecurity to achieve a better level of security of various facilities.
This is especially relevant due to martial law in Ukraine and increased requirements for security, both fire and security.
In connection with the start of the project, the NGO "Chernivtsi Regional Association of Social Development" begins the purchase of equipment and invites suppliers to participate in the tender/competition.
